Leeds United College are delighted to announce their latest partnership with the Ultimate Football Coaching Academy (UFCA) to provide elite coaching across the Player Development Scholarship.
The Player Development Scholarship is a full-time educational programme available at Level 2 and 3 that provides students with the opportunity to combine a first-class education alongside an elite football experience.
UFCA is an organisation that was created by professional coaches Steve Hart and Steve Grime, with the mission of developing youth talent across West Yorkshire, offering elite level coaching for grassroots players who are committed to becoming the best players they can be.
They are proud to hold an outstanding reputation and track record for producing elite talent, resulting in a number of academy stars signing professional deals.
Steve Hart, UFCA Academy Director said: “We are delighted to be working with such a prestigious and world renowned organisation such as Leeds United. The College partnership will enable us to develop a ground-breaking programme with quality at the forefront.
“This programme will ensure players continue to develop and work towards their ultimate goal but more importantly, to ensure they work hard off the field and leave our programme with the right qualifications, experience and maturity to step in to the ‘real’ world and become confident well-rounded young adults. We believe that better people make even better players.”
This Scholarship programme will also be supported by specialist teaching and learning staff from Leeds United College who will help to deliver the academic, vocational and employability qualifications. The course is ideally suited to young people who wish to pursue a career in the sports industry or progress on to University to study.
Angus Kinnear, CEO at Leeds United Football Club, added: “We are really pleased to announce this new partnership with the Ultimate Football Coaching Academy that will really help to further enhance our Player Development Scholarship offer at the College.
“The aim of developing well-rounded individuals that work hard both on and off the pitch is definitely something that matches with the ethos of the Leeds United College so we look forward to seeing the partnership develop.”
